Built around the operation, not dropped on top of it.

Manufacturing relationships that started with the work on the floor: identifying what was hard to see, what had to connect, and what became possible next.

Automating OEE and quality inspection without treating the factory like a generic implementation.

The work centred on continuous improvement, automated OEE and quality inspections, with time spent understanding the operation, the people and the improvement journey.

RESULT
+10 machines
Capacity equivalent to adding 10 new machines, unlocked from the existing factory floor without buying a single piece of new equipment.
~$3Mof additional annual capacity
100%of manual data collection eliminated
“From the outset, working with DataQI and Razor has felt far more like a true partnership than a traditional supplier relationship... Throughout our transition into automating OEE and quality inspections, both teams have been exceptional. They invested time in understanding our operation, our people, and our improvement journey, rather than applying a generic solution.”Dave Tudor · Continuous Improvement Manager · Prima Dental

Legacy OEE, direct PLC signals and a platform that grew in phases.

The problem

Gripple had outgrown legacy OEE systems. Preventative maintenance, asset care and tooling relied heavily on manual processes.

What connected

Azure Digital Twins modelled physical assets. PLC signals generated OEE figures, while ERP work centres, part codes, jobs and work orders fed operator screens.

What changed next

Later phases added spare-parts and maintenance management, real-time issue resolution, tool management, manual assembly and packing. The platform was built and tested for rollout across international sites.

“Razor didn't just give us software; they partnered with us to fundamentally change how we use data on the shop floor, removing friction and driving massive efficiency gains.”Darren Cork · Head of Digital Transformation · Gripple
“Working with Razor was more than a business transaction, hearts and minds together we took on a challenge and transformed this core process in our company.”Darren Cork · Head of Digital Transformation · Gripple

The partnership with Razor will play an important part in this transition, ensuring that we position ourselves for the future, without losing any of our inherent capabilities.”Steven Price · Head of Manufacturing Strategy · Sheffield Forgemasters

Advancing UK manufacturing through applied research and practical AI.

We collaborate with leading UK manufacturing institutions and industrial pioneers to research, test, and implementing new technologies like AI on real production floors to improve capability and long-term competitiveness.

AMRC NextGen: Visualising real-time data across UK manufacturing sites.

Razor consulted with manufacturing companies across the UK for the AMRC NextGen initiative, developing real-time informatics dashboards to centralise live machine utilisation and operational events across multiple factory sites.

“When the CEO rings me and says, ‘We thought we could do it 20 times quicker but have worked out a way to process it 4,000 times quicker’ that’s when you know you have partnered with the right guys.”Ben Morgan · CEO · Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC)
“Unlocking data has the power to revolutionise the manufacturing industry. With Razor's expertise and the dashboards they developed, we are able to visualise operations from a number of sites across the UK all in one place, showcasing how this visual data can help make the industry more efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable.”Dr. Jon Stammers · Theme Lead - Data, Connectivity & AI · AMRC
“This project was a true meeting of minds. By collaborating with Razor, we didn't just solve a technical challenge; we unlocked a new way of thinking. They helped us bridge the gap between ambitious sustainability goals and the interactive tools needed to make them a reality.”Ryan Diver · Director of Data · AMRC
